Hammond Memorial 29th April help required!

We're now just under 4 weeks away from the Orwells biggest promotion of the year, the Hammond memorial road races in Roundwood, and we will need as many helpers as possible to make it a success.

For all those who open race during the year, as I'm sure you'll appreciate, all those races are only possible thanks to the work and commitment of other club members. Now it's our turn to step up to the mark.

There will be a number of races, so we need a host of lead cars, commissaries drivers, static marshalls, sign-on helpers and more besides.

We will need people to be there from about 9:30 until 14:00, and all helpers will be acknowledged, fed and watered. As usual, Orwell riders will only be allowed to race if we have enough marshalls or if you bring a substitue. Even if you have never marshalled before and have no idea what the job involves we will find a role for you, so please consider coming out to support us.

If you are available to help out please let me know, either by text, e-mail or in this thread! If we don't get the numbers, we'll be hounding all members over the next few weeks!

I can help out, I'll have a car so static or moving role, whatever you need, I tend to get lost pretty easily though so if you have a map of the route in advance for slow people like me then that would be good....

Any chance you can put up a map to the route? Though I know the roads in the area well, I've never raced the Hammond races and it would be good to get my head around it ahead of time in case you need me for a driving role.

I'lll be putting up the route and the corners at the weekend and at the marshals meeting before the race there will be print outs available for all marshals..

I had this race on my radar as it looks quite cool. However, count me in if you are short of marshals. Never done it before but happy to learn. I have no car but I have a (small) scooter...
