Paul Forristal gave a masterclass in dominance, leaving nothing to chance and coming home a minute clear of the chasers after being away solo for at least 15 minutes. His attack along with a strong wind split the race to bits, with Brian McNally winning a small group sprint from some of those who weren't lapped.

1 Paul Forristal (S)
2 Brian McNally (S)
3 Callum O'Toole (S)
4 Eoin Byrne (S)
5 Barry McMahon (S)
6 Colm O'Neill (SS)

We had two sets of interlopers in Corkagh tonight. First a pair of young lads who didn't take no for an answer, but didn't interfere with the race before pedalling off again. Another older pair came straight onto the course near the end of the race, oblivious to the race. Dave Mc quickly intervened to order them out again before any damage was done.

Take this as a reminder to marshals and riders leaving the Park - please ensure the gate is closed and bolted at all times.

A beautiful race report courtesy of this week's fastest non-podium placer, Owen O'Flaherty:

Dramatic scenes this evening as Limit wunderkind Dmitri Griffin, he of the breakaway win last week and freshly upgraded, rolled up with a few seconds to spare and set off with Limit, causing a race restart one lap in.

He then picked up where he left off last week, pulling hard around a sunny Corkagh Park in ideal conditions and forcing a fast pace that meant that Limit were caught about halfway through. Unfortunately, his work done, he then punctured out.

Surges up the back rise and finishing straight on this reverse lap circuit, particularly by Barry Greene, then saw the slow shelling of riders that meant a reduced group of less than ten coming into the final two laps. This included the two strongest riders from Limit, who had clearly conserved their strength well to put in a final effort to take first and second in the sprint.

Great performance from all the youth riders.

Strong form from the Tour of Scotland for some.

If there was a combativité award it would surely go to Ruairi Byrne.
