Dick, you da boss! Great for the club to have its very own resident Tony Martin, you'll be pulling out a 170km solo breakaway next!

Such is the gulf between my times up climbs and the club's top tier, I find it hard to comprehend the scale of the extra effort and pain that go into those top times. But I can relate at least a little more closely to the TT times and I can only say Dick's time last night is stunning, some powerful engine to hit those numbers.

What brought it home for me was realising you'd be finished and have time to allocate the requisite 118 seconds to pour the perfect pint of Guinness and then conduct a random 5-seconds of Jazz Hands celebration before I crossed the line behind you!


Echoing others, but it can't be said enough: the dedication and quality organisation from those that kindly volunteer to run the league are simply exemplary. Thanks folks, it really is much appreciated.
