Introduction to Racing Session, Corkagh Park, Saturday, September 30 2023

We'll be holding a race training day in at the cycle race track in Corkagh Park on Saturday September 30 at 11am.

The purpose of this session is twofold:
1. To give members interested in racing a primer on what's involved.
2. To sign off on prospective members who want to join Orwell to race.

The main focus will be on bike handling and bunch riding during a race. We’ll then look at some basic race tactics, as well as explaining the different race formats used in the club league. For those of you completely new to scene, the club league is a series of races for involving Orwell and a number of other Dublin clubs on Thursday evenings during the spring and summer months. 

Open to all Orwell members or people planning to join Orwell to race next year. If you're interested in attending, please leave your name below or email racing rep Dick O'Brien (see contacts page). We'll probably need a minimum of eight to make it work and maximum of 30 people. 

Quick reminder to everyone else that this is happening on Saturday. The forecast isn't stellar but if it is raining I'll try keep everyone moving and not have too much standing around. 

No problem, we may have another in the Spring if the demand is there.

We've got around 10 people due to come, so still have enough to go ahead. Hopefully the weather forecast improves.
