**** Orwell Wheelers Weekend Away ****

The weekend away is upon us and I would just like to update everyone who is traveling to Portlaoise.

Please bring your bag to the meeting point across from Joe Dalys between
7.30 & 8.00 on Thursday night next, as it will be brought to Portlaoise on Friday and securely stored overnight. ( if you cannot be there phone a friend)

We are leaving for Portlaoise from 8.45am on the Saturday morning, so please be on time. We will have a Red - Orange group & Yellow - White group and people will be allocated accordingly.

Leaders are required to accommodate the various groups, so let me know who is available, or otherwise I will just nominate you on the day. Please see the routes below, one of them is a little easier at the start than the other.

Please if you have Garmin download the routes in advance and I also ask everyone to please look at the routes before you leave. Essentially their is two different starts with the following major waypoints :

Dundrum, Tallaght, 2 routes to Blessington, N81 towards Hollywood, Right for Dunlavin, Rathsallagh, N78 to Athy, Stradbally, Portlaoise. (I can see Mr Weymes rustling through those old paper maps)

We are stopping for light refreshments at Rathsallagh Golf Club which is around the 53k mark. The Egon Ronay aficionados among the group can rest assured there is no where else around ( sure we had a great bill of fare in Blacklion last year, on mart day !!! )

On arrival at the Midlands Park Hotel your bicycle will be secured under lock & key for the duration of your stay.

Pre dinner drinks will be the order of the day from 6.30pm in the Hotel bar.

For all matters after than another fine tradition will be observed :
