Orwell Wheelers Randonnée was created by Leonard Kaye

There a number of areas where you can volunteer:

1, Sign on Duties
2, Marshalling (Marshal Training will be provided Thursday 3rd May)
3, Assisting with the catering

When volunteering please provide the following information:

1. Name
2. Email Address
3. Contact Number
4. Will you have a car?
5. Availability – All Day / Morning (07.00 – 13.00) / Afternoon (13:00 – 18:00)

Ideally we want people, who can do the full day as it allows for easier planning.

The committee will allocate the different roles and will be in contact at a later stage.

Please do not volunteer on the Forum just to the following email.

This is the potentially the biggest event that the club organise each year and we have participants coming back year after year for it.
The event can only go ahead if there are sufficient people helping on the day, your club needs you to ensure this event goes ahead. I don't suppose anyone else is trying to palm off entries? I didn't get around to booking (more fool me) and need two, if anyone has them in the back of a cupboard anywhere ...

After several years as a dutiful marshal I've rewarded myself by registering to ride Randonnée '18 (& have cunningly waited for the best forecast in years).
Expect to take about 8 hours on-bike (equivalent to a trip average of 18.5-19.0 km/hr) so to minimise the imposition on the gallant volunteers, I plan to push off from the rugby club ahead of the mass start - say 8.15-8.30.
Anyone else interested in this sort of schedule and pace?
Tom

The Orwell Randonnee raised a fantastic €4,000 for the Dundrum Arch Club this year and the cheque was officially handed over tonight.

On hand from Scott Orwell Wheelers were Randonnee committee members Rob Tully, Denis Gleeson, Martin Donohue and George Flannigan along with Club Treasurer Yvonne Doran and Club President Paul Tansey.

Our thanks to everyone who took part and who helped out - your contribution has brought a lot of smiles to some very deserving people!
