Hey all

3 weeks 5 days to go to the Marmotte!!!!

My plans for next 2 weeks pre tapering are the following. Would be great to get as many people out for them as possible. All welcome from Marmotte group or anyone who wants to get some hills in. Colm myself and a few others are definitely doing these.

Saturday 14th

Starting and finishing in Roundwood. Meet at coffee shop for 9am. Leave 915am

Route will be Laragh, Shay Elliot, Sliabh Mann, Brown Mountain, Greenane, Brown Mountain, Sliabh Mountain, Shay Elliot, Wicklow Gap, Laragh for coffee, Glenmacnass-Sally Gap, Lugalla, Roundwood.

Approx 100km with 2000m of climbing. Cut out the Wicklow Gap if you want and it's 85km with 1750m.

Sunday 22nd

A repeat of the Good Friday Monster. 155-160km with 3000m of climbing

Route will be Yellow House at 8am-Cruagh-Featherbeds-Sally Gap-Laragh for break-Shay-Sliabh-Brown Mountain-Shay-Wicklow Gap-Laragh-Glenmacnass-Sally Gap-Featherbeds kom-Dublin.

These are very challenging routes aimed at climbing as much as possible. Aimed at people who are heading to the Marmotte/Etape etc but are open to anyone to come along. We'll definitely not be racing it and we'll be keeping everyone together for as much as possible and regrouping at the tops of each of the climbs etc. Absolutely no one will be left behind on their own. This will be a real group effort.

Hope to see some of you on both or either.

Let me know if you have any questions

cheers

Hey all

super 9 peak cycling yesterday by everyone!

Roll on next Sunday for the Monster from last Good Friday. We'll be regrouping at the tops of all the hills and we welcome everyone but please be aware that this is one of the hardest cycles you can do in Ireland. Long and lots of climbing is guaranteed so a love of the hills is a must!

Route will be: Sunday 22nd
Meet at Yellow House 830am
Cruagh-Featherbeds-Sally Gap-Laragh(coffee)-Shay Elliot-Sliabh-Brown Moutain-Greenane-Shay Elliot-Wicklow Gap-Laragh(coffee)-Glenmacnass-Sally Gap-Featherbeds-Dublin

It's around 155km with 3000+m of climbing.

We will regroup at the top of each peak and try to climb together for as much as possible.

Hope to see some of you next Sunday

Hey all

after basking in our glory for 24hours after a heroic 9 peak epic Billy Parker did one better than us and completed an 11 Peak Epic from Laragh to Laragh with 108km with 3100m of climbing! Talk about stealing our thunder!

This madness must be bettered so next Sunday's spin will now be starting and finishing in Laragh and we'll do the same as Billy's spin

www.strava.com/activities/153937453

plus Turlough Hill at the end meaning it'll be 115km and 3300m and 12 peaks! A new record!

Please note the original spin on Sunday 22nd will not go ahead from Yellow House and will start and finish in Laragh. If anyone needs a lift etc post of the forum and hopefully some spaces in cars will appear.

Hope this suits everyone but if it doesn't blame Billy Parker's ego
