Icy roads this weekend. was created by Dave Mc
With this latest dose of wintry weather we can take it for granted that there will be plenty of ice on the roads over the next two mornings.
If you are going out for a spin this weekend please do be careful, and be aware that you can be on completely clear roads in one spot, and sheet ice just down the road. I would advise staying coastal, either coast road, N11 or Howth. Even then be aware that you can still get black ice or hard frost in sheltered spots. The later you go out in the day the less chance you have of finding ice, but obviously that only reduces the risk rather than eliminating it.
If you aren't keen on ice don't be ashamed to give the road bike a miss altogether this weekend, and come back better for it next weekend. Go for a run, swim, hillwalk, mountainbike or whatever, or even just take the weekend off altogether.

Replied by Kathryn Keogh on topic Icy roads this weekend.
Apparently a vet came off on Bray Head around 12 noon and 20 Lucan riders crashed on black ice today!
Go mountain biking!
