Bike box size restriction at Dublin airport T1

Recently we were travelling with our bikes in cardboard bicycle boxes of slightly different sizes through Dublin airport.  Due to new size restrictions at the airport one of our boxes was rejected at the oversized baggage scanner in T1.  I have never had this problem before but I was told that a new scanner was installed earlier this year.  Last week I made a note of the size restrictions which are not shown on the DAA website but I have brought this to their attention.

These are the restrictions shown at the scanner which would apply when the box is lying on its side. 

Max. 2.2m long *
Max. 950mm wide *
Max. 750mm height
* If width is greater than 800mm then max length is 1500mm
