Outriders wanted for Dublin Marathon race series

The organisers of the Dublin Marathon are looking for six bicycle outriders to help on their race series this year. A number of Orwell members have performed this role on the marathon in the past few years, and this time the organisers want us to help on the whole series.

The races are a 5mile this Saturday (17th), 10 mile on August 21st, Half-marathon on September 18th and finally the Dublin Marathon itself on the October bank holiday (Monday 25th).

The organisers will provide uniform jackets and Felt racing bikes (not for keeps!) and the job will be to ride the course and keep unofficial cyclists out of the way of the runners. They're going to make a donation to the club if we can help them out on this, but the catch is that since they will be providing bikes they need to know names and frame sizes of volunteers ASAP (this evening at latest).

Hopefully this will be of interest to some of the runners/duathletes in the club, or even anyone who wants to go along and watch the suffering on a Saturday morning.
