National Bike Week was created by Dick O'Brien
I see Dave McLoughlin got a mention in the Irish Times today:

One of the first events got under way yesterday when Cycling Ireland sent three riders on a week-long trip around Ireland.

Hazel Hall is travelling north, Paul O’Donoghue is travelling west and Dave McLaughlin is taking the southern route. They will pass through every county on the island during the week, linking up with local cycling clubs, schools and communities on their routes.

They will all finish their journeys in Mullingar on Sunday.

Fair play to Dave. He texted me earlier to say that he's in Waterford this evening having pedalled 250km already taking in almost every hill in South Leinster. It's the Comeraghs and Cork tomorrow, West Cork and Mizen Head the day after.
Some man...

There was me thinking I'd accomplished something by doing the Wicklow 200 on Sunday, and then Dave goes and shifts the goal posts again...

The man can't sit still (certainly not when there's a climb anywhere within a few hundred km).
