Folks,

With the ongoing investigation going on around the Sally Gap - does anyone have any recommended hilly routes that would avoid that area this weekend? Training for (fast approaching) Etape de Tour and need to clock in around 3,000m+ on Sat. Not looking for distance, just hills. I had a route planned that would be 140km and 3,400m but that looks off the cards right now. I usually leave from Rathfarham.

Hello Glen,
route below may work for you. Martin and myself did it two years ago a week before the mick byrne. cycle out to kilternan and work east to west, go up and down every (well nearly) road in the Dublin Mountains. we finished our climbing at the top of Seahan shoulder - 80km travelled and about 2300m climbed. so to get to your figures just reverse it from there. good luck.
