Dear all

We had an accident on today's spin with 2 members coming down and although no broken bones etc they are a bit black and blue and worse for wear. There also has been an increase in accidents this winter vs normal so I've been asked to post up a link with practical tips for cyclists when dealing with an injury from an accident.

www.thehealthsite.com/diseases-condition...ad-traffic-accident/

If everyone could have a glance through and if you do have an accident on your spin do the following at the minimum.

-Keep the person still and on the ground. Always suspect head/concussion or spinal injury.
-Keep the person warm with extra layers from other cyclists.
-Ring an ambulance
-Don't feed the person anything.
-No liquids whatsoever or the ambulance will not be able to administer anything.

All the full details are in the link above. Always be prepared!

A timely article in Roadcc today on "what to do if your buddy crashes"! It also includes a link to a handy app for First Aid for Cyclists.
