For those red paced racing cyclists trying to fit a cycle in with weekend time constraints, I'll be heading out on a maximum 3 hour red paced, no coffee stop spin each Sunday morning at 8 a.m. from Lamb's Cross, as weather allows.

Nice gentle introduction this Sunday with flat roads down the coast to Rathnew with a few efforts thrown in on the way home.

With all due respect to the Gerry Brannigan spin, for those unable to attend and/or who are looking to get out early and back, I'll lead a group from Lambs Cross at 8 a.m. next Sunday morning.

Here is the draft route subject to change depending on the elements.

Do you have a strava link to last Sunday's spin? I'd be tempted but I'm not sure that I can keep up, so I'd like to see what pace you're doing.

Greg, I was like you, unsure of the pace and therefore worried about holding the lads back. In the end I was late out and ended up doing the same route at a similar place but solo. I therefore will give it a try next week...assuming they'll have me!!. What's the worst that can happen...?? :)

Hi Greg, if you've been in an orange or red group last week you'll be well able. Ours was probably that bit tougher with fewer numbers so more the merrier. It'll be steady again on Sunday. 38/39 mph average, purple pace .

Hoping to see a few more numbers out at 8 a.m ! Last Sunday we had 4 and as the weather was nice enough, we headed up and over Sally Gap from Ballinastoe, coming back through Brittas and Ballinascorney, back home for 10.45.

Next Sunday's route

Two of us (Hugh McGeary) rolled out of lambs cross promptly at 8 for a lap of big lake and back via Ballinascorney, averaged 28kph over 85k/820m ascent. Back pretty much on the button at 11, perfect for the family, given the weather.

It would be great if we could get a few more people to join who may be time pressured but interested in a decently paced spin (that is no reflection on Hugh's company!

Bryan, thanks for the route (though Strava seems to have lost 400m since you posted!!) hope to meet you next week.

I won't be about Sunday morning but suggested route is down the coast to Rathnew and back. Exepcted wintry conditions up over the Gap so might be a little dangerous.

Weather permitting I'll be back out and about on Sunday morning at 8.30 a.m. with a nice relaxed spin up the Embankment around the lakes and back over Ballinascorney.

Hopefully the later time entices some newbies !

feel free to text me your interest
