Chapeau Dave - some machine, sub 60 is some going........... Not just physically but mentally.
I abandoned yesterday morning c. 6am after 498km - I rolled around for first 350 or so and then became aware of time limit so started to see if I cud dig in ...... Alas not - the back, knee and shin were giving me painful reminders of the crappy lead in I had, I finished with juice in the tank but as Sean kelly wud say 'I did the calculations' and knew I wud not make the time limit - normally I wud say ride out an event but a finish outside limit was not worth the risk of further damage for me.
I ended up been collected by parents of a friend who have a hol home in Brittany - this is first chance I had to get online. Thanks again to all for support and to dave for sound advice in the last few months.
Ne regret rien
Danny

Sorry to hear of your injury Danny. It was certainly wiser to pull out rather than persevere through that sort of pain and spend the rest of the year crippled. There'll be other days!
Congratulations to you Dave! You must be a little tired

Dave, well done, savage performance.
Danny, fair play to you for getting 498km done in those circumstances. That's 298km more than my longest effort. Best wishes for recovery and recuperation. Look after yourself.

Chapeau Dave on a savage time.
Danny, Kudos for getting as far as you did under the circumstances. Hope you enjoy your holiday, you certainly earned it.

That is class Dave - any finishers medal is well earned but the time stamp on yours is just phenomenal ! Congrats - I actually find it hard to fathom how anyone can do that !!
