This year it is a UCI grade 1 event - the highest level of racing in this country. We will need lots of helpers. The event takes place from 08.00-18.30 each day, and help will be taken for any portion of that, or if anyone can commit to either all day Saturday or Sunday (or both), we do need a few volunteers for a full day.
Help is mega-appreciated by Jen, and indeed the club - we will hopefully have a few riders taking part, and picking up UCI points.
If you don't know Jen, she supplies many of the tasty baked goods and tea at so many Orwell and women's gatherings, as well as organising league races and helping at the TTs, and massive work with the youth section. In short, she does a lot of work for the club and its members, and it would be great if the members could help her in return, even for just a few hours.

We've gotten a few volunteers, but more are badly needed. If you can spare a day, or just a few hours, Jen will find a job for you!

So huge efforts to make sure it meets the criteria, all while juggling start lists, results, and running multiple events over two days. I'm exhausted just writing about it, so next time you see Jen, make sure you thank her for doing the club and the country proud!
Mega appreciation for Colm Bradley, Daniel McElroy, Conor Murnane, Orla Hendron and Fionn Sheridan for all day Saturday, Diarmuid Collins for Saturday morning, Brian McArdle, David Swift, Naoise Sheridan and Fionn Sheridan for all day Sunday, Valdis Andersons and David Hendron for Sunday morning. Fionn did a little more commissaire duty and also did mechanic for the Dutch national team and Slovakian rider, Uisneach was flag bearer on Saturday after racing in mondell earlier in the day, thanks to Dave Murnane for bringing him.
It couldn't have been done without the help, so proud to say that a huge proportion of the helpers were Orwell Wheelers. If I have overlooked anyone it is because we got back so late last night and my brain function is seriously impaired at the moment!

Both Naoise Sheridan and Conor Murnane were aggressive from the gun, and it paid off handsomely with a gold medal each! Congrats to both!
Conor will be racing for Leinster this week in the Junior Tour, so a great sign of form for him - good luck!
