Make sure to use your vote! was created by Dave Mc
The Cycling Ireland member awards are now open for 2011, and Orwell have nominees in every category. Link.

In a break from recent years CI have provided a list of nominees for each category. While there are a number of very deserving nominees on each list I'd like to encourage everyone with a 2011 CI licence to vote for the Orwell candidates. The full list of nominees can be found on the above link, but the Orwell ones are:

Most valuable volunteer: Aideen Collard;
Best club: Orwell Wheelers (well duh!);
Best Ireland based female rider: Orla Hendron;
Best Ireland based male rider: Stephen McNally.

All very worthy candidates, please consider giving them your vote.

Heartiest congratulations to Orla Hendron who has been selected as the female cyclist of the year in the 2011 Cycling Ireland Member Awards! link
It's a well deserved accolade for Orla who won two medals at the World Masters Track Championships last month to go with second in the National Road Race League and third in the Classic Road Race League.
Orla will receive her gong at the annual CI Awards in the Radisson Blu this Saturday. Several other awards will be presented to Orwell members on the night: Stephen McNally (who was nominated for the male cyclist of the year member award) will receive his Veteran's Track Championship gold medal among others, the victorious women's national road race team will be in attendance and Donal Bailey will be honoured for his national Sprint title. If you feel like coming along to what will be a great night out in Dublin (it isn't always in Dublin so take advantage!) tickets are still available from Cycling Ireland here .
