Club Weekend Away - Nov 19th & 20th

Hi All,

The club weekend away has been pencilled in for the weekend of Oct 8th/9th. (see post below for update) The plan is to drive to the destination on the Fri night (or on the Sat morning as it won't be more than an hour & a half drive from Dublin) - a 100km-ish cycle on the Saturday followed by dinner, drinks and karaoke on the Sat night.....further details to follow once confirmed.

Bit early in the year for the Club weekend away n'est pas?? I always associate a windy/rainy November trip and a hangover with it.

...also slightly too early for us aging (masters) track riders, who still be going around and around in circles until mid-October :-(

Ok Ok....November wind & rain with a hangover it is. It's now looking like November 19th & 20th for the weekend away. Noel, Stephen - you have also secured the first two karaoke spots.

Noel and I can do a duet - It starts something like this Noel... "Sometimes it's hard to be a woman....." I'll join in once you're in full flow, ok?

You can do a trial run at the drinks .... Get yer vote in!

Date Nov 18th/19th
Location: Portlaoise
Accommodation: The Portlaoise Heritage Hotel
Cycle: Leaving hotel at 10am sharp on Saturday morning. 120km and 80km route options. Both leaving from the hotel at 10am sharp & will remain as one group as far as coffee stop.
Dinner: 7:30pm Sat evening - 3 course dinner in Hotel restaurant (incl. as part of package)

Price:
Fri 18th & Sat 19th (2 Nights Bed & Breakfast and one dinner) = €89 per person sharing
Sat 19th Only (1 Night Bed & Breakfast and one dinner) = €65 per person sharing

Are there many going down on Friday? I was thinking of pedalling down on Friday afternoon. I can't stay on Saturday night, unfortunately. Is it worth my while do you think?

Anyone know in which of the restos in the hotel we are eating on Saturday night? There seem to be two, a d'Italian and a Kelly's grillhouse... Heading down Friday so I want to spread the love around...
