Tonight is the first crit of the Wheelworx Orwell Ladies' League, and Sandra Fitzgerald holds the leader's jersey after last week's TT. Will she still be wearing it after tonight's crit in Sandyford? And as the season progresses, there's plenty more events for racing women...

An account of round one is available on StickyBottle.com, but Garda CC rider Fitzgerald will be challenged in round two by Adamstown's Roisin Kennedy (currently second), with the top Orwell rider Monica Marconi in third place.

Sign-on is from 6.30pm at the Cosy Kitchen Café, Carmanhall Road, with the first race start scheduled for 7pm. To take part, all you need is a club licence - if you've missed round one, don't worry. Volunteers are welcome to act as marshalls, and anybody can come spectate.

In other racing news, we're delighted to announce that Charlotte MacDonald and Rachel Kaye-Mellor have been selected to ride for Leinster in the UK-based Bedford 3 Day in May. More details over here.

We've also been doing some work on the Women's Page here on orwellwheelers.org. Go take a look, and let us know if you have any feedback. It contains links to a few other pages of interest, including a link to the National League site - the next round of which is on this weekend in Drogheda.

Meanwhile, we hope to see you out supporting Orwell's finest racers in Sandyford tonight!
