McNally and Collard scoop track league honours
Stephen McNally and Aideen Collard have been confirmed as winners of the Men's and Women's Sundrive Track league for 2009.
McNally has led the league for much of the season and held off a determined challenge from reigning champion Keith Meghen (Sundrive Track Club). McNally, competing in his first full season of track racing, and his first track competition since 1985, took a win and a second place in the penultimate round and his five point margin would prove to be decisive when the final event was rained off.
Collard, meanwhile, shook off a bout of mid-season flu to dominate the points standings in the women's league, taking victory by 7 points over Roisin Kennedy (Staggs Lucan).
Darragh Long ended the season as runner up in the Youth section of the league with Craig Arrigan fourth.
