Orla Hendron continued her preparations for the upcoming World Masters Championships with a brace of medal performances in the IVCA Championships on the new 250m outdoor track in Kanturk, Co Cork last weekend.

Hendron, competing on level terms with men in an age group higher than her own, showed her versatility when she rode to the bronze medal in the sprint event, which was run as a time trial, and the scratch race.

The national veteran’s record holder on road and track now turns her attention to Anadia in Portugal where she will compete in the World Masters Championships from 26th to 31st of this month.

Orla will be accompanied on the trip to Portugal by Orwell’s European Masters medallist Aideen Collard.
