Michael Hanley was a member of the recent very successful Scott-Orwell Wheelers Gorey 3 Day Team. Michael takes us through his experience of the weekend itself and also the unexpected obstacles he had to overcome to get there. Thanks to Michael for sharing this very personal account with us

Veteran of two Rás campaigns, Brian Mc, recounts his third Rás in a row. Tight for training time and an early crash seek to thwart his aims of finishing. He also has one eye on the A2 Classification.

Bryan Geary takes us through his recent upgrade to A1. He recounts his early racing days and his return to the top domestic level.

So this was it. A hard year of training was complete. There had been many sacrifices along the way. I had cut back on the treats, eased off the sauce and succumbed to a diet of low intensity monster miles each weekend come rain, hail or shine. My family had suffered with me.

As the old expression goes “time is a great healer” and that is certainly the case when Jamie decided to ride the Rás for the second consecutive year. The pain and stress of the previous year was fading, all that remained were fond memories of a fantastic week with some great people racing around Ireland in glorious sunshine.
