Gráinne Coghlan got the results off to a flying start this week in Corkagh Park, and this continued into the weekend, with Pat O'Brien sprinting in for 8th on the final stage of the Wexford 2 Day, putting himself into 10th overall. Darragh Long featured in the Junior Champs, taking the bunch gallop and helping his NRPT squad to the team prize.

This week was once again dominated by the Orwellian women, with Monica Marconi winning the Collins Christle Memorial race yesteray, adding to her Corkagh Park placing from Tuesday. Ciara Kinch made it two from two over two weekends, and Orla Hendron took a fine 4th place. Naoise Sheridan also took 4th in the Leinster Champs, while Philippe Bourdarias and Cormac Bracken picked up unplaced prizes in Kilmessan. Brian Ahern continued his comeback, with a decent 6th in the Beechmount Cup.

In yet another successful weekend for club riders, Ronan Grimes took outright victory in the A4 race at Donore yesterday, earning himself an A3 upgrade. Joining him in A3 will be John Lanigan, who netted fifth in the same race. Charlotte MacDonald also placed fifth in the women's race, adding to her Corkagh Park result. Diarmuid Collins picked up the top A2 prize in the title event, while on Saturday Wexford natives Jamie Busher and Patrick O'Brien both earned bronze medals in their county champs.

The title of Orwell rider of the weekend is in no doubt, with rising star Naoise Sheridan searing her way to sun-drenched defence of two of her National U16 track titles. The senior men and women picked up a few placings, while our triathlon squad were also in action, with Rachel Glendon taking the overall in the Beast of the East.

The Orwell results started pouring in last Tuesday, with two placings at Corkagh Park courtesy of Isabel Cogan and Siobhán O'Connor. Cogan repeated her success with 7th at the weekend in Bunclody, while Oisín Boland earned himself an upgrade with a super 3rd place in the A4 race, and Neal Hudson broke his barren streak with a fine 8th in the A3 edition.
