Connery, who also competes with the Belpark Triathlon Club, is in only her second season of duathlon competition but showed her potential with a dominant victory in the Irish Duathlon Championships in Donegal earlier in April.

Having honed her cycling skills with some very impressive displays on the regular Step Up Group rides last winter, Connery is now set to further extend her road racing experience when she joins up with the Orwell team for next weekend’s Rás na mBan in Sneem, County Kerry.
