Ian Donnelly took the win in the opening round of this year's club league, the traditional 5km time trial on Pine Forest Road. The track man used his power to good effect to narrowly beat Sean Murnane who heralded his return to club league with a searing time.
He and Donnelly were the only two riders on the night to break nine minutes. Luke McMullan came closest to that mark, finishing third with a time of nine minutes on the nose. Another track man, Dimitri Griffin, put in a storming ride to take first Semi-Scratch, besting Neal Hudson to second. TT-specialist Ian Devlin and recent arrival Ross Collins tied for third in Semi-Scratch. Some of the most impressive rides on the night came from league newcomers in the Limit group. Liam McCarthy was first Limit on the night but 10th overall. Hot on his heals were James O'Brien and Adam McConnell. Under 16 rider Conor Fennell wasn't far behind and was fastest Youth rider on the night. In Semi-Limit Killian Doyle came out on top, besting another track man Oisin Murtagh. Third place went to Garret Greene.
