It is a very short round up of what is coming next week in the world of the club as we are coming to the end of the season!

SOCIAL:

The Awards Night

Starting with one of the highlights of the year - the Awards Night! The the end of season prize-giving will be taking place Saturday September 15th, in the Anvil Room at the Goat Grill & Bar, Goatstown.

All are welcome, and we expect to see any prize winners from during the year there. If you have a trophy to be engraved, please make sure it's with Tommy in Corragh Trophies by the end of this week if possible.

Time TBC, but likely to be 7pm to get the ball rolling early and leave time at the end for some socialising.

70th Year Celebration Dinner

The other big highlight of this year is the Orwell 70th Celebration Dinner. Don't worry it isn't on this week but tickets have now gone on sale and are going quickly so dont miss out! Full details are on - 70th Year Celebration Dinner

Rás na mBan continues in Kilkenny with 2 stages on Saturday - A morning TT and an evening Crit - and the final stage finishing in Kilkenny City on Sunday. At the time of writing Lauren Creamer is in 20th overall after a very strong and consistent showing in the opening 3 stages.  If you are in the area or looking for something to do on Saturday then get down to Kilkenny to watch the Crit race. It starts at 6pm and is an hour of action packed racing around the city center! Full information here - Rás na mBan Website

Not quite cycling but we cant let this one get away! Our Hill Climb Champion - Luke McMullan - is off to Wales this weekend to compete in Ironman Wales in the hopes of qualifying for the World Championships in Kona. Ironman Wales has a fierce reputation as one of, if not the toughest competitions there is - apart from the swim there isnt much in the way of flat at this event - but this should suit Luke down to a tee! Best of luck Luke!!
