The only hotel that I could find in Killinard is the Heritage hotel and going by the rates that are advertised on the site it is not looking like a cheap weekend

Also, didn't the Heritage go into receivership over the summer? I would be surprised if we couldn't find a good deal somewhere.

The Abbey court is 4star with pool and spa, and has been the venue for one of our weekends away not too long ago. Routes in the area include the Silvermines mountains and Lough Derg.
The plan is to drive down on the Friday evening, have a full day cycle on Saturday, night out Saturday, short spin on Sunday for those who want it before the drive home. Non-cycling partners are welcome.
If you want to book a spot for this let me know either through this thread or by e-mail.
In answer to all the thoughts upthread, the Heritage was the favourite venue at one point, it is under administration and so did offer a reasonable option pricewise, but could not accommodate the numbers that we were looking for. In any case, considering that our last two Winter weekends away have been to the Mount Wolsley and the Radisson I didn't think that price was the primary concern on these trips anymore.
Kilkenny is a good option, but we used to go there every year and have gotten tired of it. We'll be back there some year soon enough.
Carlingford was another place I was looking at, we've tried to organise trips there a number of times over the past few years and it has never worked out for various reasons. In fact anytime we try to organise anything slightly unorthodox it bombs. Cyclists these days just want a decent hotel with somewhere convenient to get hammered, and possibly, but not necessarily, somewhere nearby to cycle.
