The Orwell 200 aka The Dublin Meath Kildare 200

The Orwell 200 will take place on Sunday the 8th of March and is the first of 2 Audax events which will be hosted by Scott Orwell Wheelers in 2020. This event is a great starting point for anyone thinking of giving Audaxing a go or the experienced. We are hoping to get 100 Scott Orwell Wheelers cyclists on the event this year so please sign up if you are free on the day. No excuses as this is a beginner friendly route aimed at first timers. If you did the Wicklow 150km or 200km last year then you will be well able for this event.

Navigation is (mostly) as straightforward as could be, and the route could almost be called “Flattest possible 200” if it weren’t for the increasing number of short sharp lumps on the approach to the finish. Controls on this event are all commercial, with a number of towns en route offering shops, cafes and garages. The route starts and finishes at Joe Daly Cycles; it is a total of 208.03 km and has a total ascent of 957.86m and has a maximum elevation of 202.38 m.

Starting at 7am, the shop will open at 6.30am for sign on for registered cyclists. There are toilets and bag storage available for participants. Refreshments will be served at registration, water and snacks at the halfway point and tea\coffee, sandwiches and cake at the shop for all finishers. It’s only going to cost you a €10 for a great day out.

There is ample parking in the area.

NOTE: There are audax Ireland and ACP medals available to purchase for all finishers, remember to select these on the eventbrite sign up page.
