    The TTT round of the league went down to the wire this year, with only six seconds separating the top two teams after the handicaps were applied, while the hill climb championships were even tighter, Fionn Sheridan winning by less than a second from Brian McArdle.

  • Davenport dances away with Roche GP

    The Stephen Roche GP treated onlookers to some spectacular entertainment last night, with family-friendly novice races, a set of youth races, and the headline event being shaped by several moves before James Davenport (SDCC) jumped well clear to take a superb win, all in the company of the man himself, Stephen Roche.

    Some very strong Orwell performances and lots of learning at the Gorey Three Day this weekend, and lots of experience gained by our (mainly) young squad. With four stages over three days and almost 150 riders, Gorey is a fantastic stage race for A2, A3 and Junior riders, as well as having a strong ladies field.

  • Kanturk 3 Day 2023

    Joe-Nathan, Cahir and Killian after stage 3

    With 4 stages over three days in the wilds of North Cork, the Kanturk 3 Day is one of the leading stage races for A2 and A3 riders in Ireland. The Orwell team of three juniors (Joe-Nathan Matar, David Harrington and Killian O'Brien) and one seasoned... non-junior (Cahir O'Higgins) had a roller-coaster ride.

  • Minty McArdle and Brilliant Barry

    With the league now done and dusted, we dip back into the final two rounds - Brian McArdle's ascendency on Kilmashogue, and Sean Barry's victory in Glencullen.

  • National Series Round 1: O'Brien and Doran performing again

    Round one of the 2023 National Series took place on Sunday 26 March in Blarney. While there was no rain, there was enough wind to add to what was already a challenging course.

    Run over a tough 140km circuit, Orwell had 3 riders in the A1/A2/Junior race, while Yvonne Doran flew our colours in the 90km Women's race. Read the full article to see how the race panned out: without giving too many spoilers, there were some great results!

  • National Series Round 2: O'Brien leading Junior

    The second round of the National Series was the Des Hanlon Memorial in Carlow. Dry and warm, with very little wind, that didn't mean it was wasy, with hills right from the start making the racing hard. Two very strong performances from Orwell riders left one with a series leader's jersey ahead of the pause for the big Easter stage races.
